is
less
a
re-review
than
a
note.
We're
not
sure
if
Shelby
is
still
going.
Of
course
when
we
re-visited
this
network
to
update
our BrainPass
review
we
had
to
check
her
out.
She's
always
been
a
favourite.
But
when
we
got
there,
the
cupboard
was
bare.
There
were
31
movies
and
50
photosets,
but
she
hadn't
updated
with
any
new
video
for
months.
This
was
leading
to a
plaintive
chorus
on
the
site's
message
board.
Threads
with
subject
lines
like:
"We
want
new
stuff!!!!!",
"Where
is
Shelby?",
"I
miss
you,"
"Where
are
the
updates?",
and
"Cum
back
to
us
baby."
In
response
to
the
most
recent
of
these
the
board
moderator
informs
us
that
"for
now
we
can
only
update
Shelby's
site
with
photosets."
No
further
explanation
is
offered.
Interpret
that
however
you
want.
We
can't
even
figure
out
if
they're
expecting
her
back.
But
it's
information
we
figured
we'd
pass
along.
FEBRUARY 2004 REVIEW
Shelby Bell, her promotional material informs us, "is
continually ranked in the top three of imported Canadian hotties."
Ranked by whom? Imported where? We can never figure this stuff
out.
More to the point, Shelby Bell is the name of a sexy young hardbody who does the
hardcore. She's a Quebec girl (her bio lists her birthplace and
residence as "Repentigny", and we have no idea where the hell
that is), which probably alerts you to a couple of things. First, it
means she's part of BrainPass,
one of the great networks of porn coming out of
Montreal. In this case, a single membership gets you Shelby's site plus
a whole bunch of other stuff. See our BrainPass review for the full
list.
If you've read our reviews of the other sites in this network (and we
suggest you do, since we're not going to repeat it all here), you know
that they are all professionally run, well-designed sites. You get a
nice selection of video for download, topping out at half-hour movies
that playback at a crisp 700 kb/s. Our major knock against this site is
that when we visited it was still small. There were only 14 videos,
running anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes, and 13 picture sets. Updates
occur weekly though, so just give it time.
Content is typical of all the sites in this network (except Peter
North's, which is a different sort of thing altogether). Simple hardcore
action usually in a bedroom studio set, boy-girl, girl-girl, and solo,
no hard fetish, with very restricted camerawork. The extras didn't seem
to be very well developed. The Bonus Sites and My Extras pages are
identical. Why have two links? There were no live shows (though they are
apparently coming soon). When we visited (in mid February), the last
diary entry was for January 19 (announcing that the site was now open).
In other words, there was no diary.
We'd make our usual gripes about the spelling (most annoying:
"length" is spelled "lenght" throughout), if anyone
really cares. But as with Christine Young's site, the main things we
wanted to see were more personal involvement (diaries, e-mails answered,
live shows, appearances, etc.), and professional camerawork in all, not
just some, of the videos (i.e., hire someone to hold the camera).
