| Review:
KellyMadison.com is a great performer site--in fact, it won Performer
Site of the Year in the 2004 PRA Awards--but it might not be what you
expect. The most impressive thing about it is the amount of what we
usually label "extra" or bonus content. This results in a
large site that isn't always easy to navigate. Down the left-hand side
of the main screen you have a menu with 25 links to different sections.
It's well laid out, but the homepage has too much going on. The main
page gives you a breakdown not only of all the recent updates but all
the future updates, top-ranked content, etc. Another reason it looks so
busy is because you get several different links to the same areas.
Almost every section has two different links on this main page to take
you to it.
The content itself offers up a little bit of everything. You even get
a good selection of around 20 audio files of Kelly talking dirty
(something so rarely done well). There are also daily updates adding to
the total (when we visited) of over 29,000 pics and 480 videos.
(Critical note: Photosets and videos are broken into several parts, so a
single set or video can be spread out over a week of "daily
updates". We found this kind of irritating.)
We have two things to say about the large amount of content.
In the first place, a lot of this material is non-exclusive, non-Kelly
Madison. There is a lot of Kelly too (of course), but we were unable to figure out just
what percentage of the total. Perhaps we missed it, but even with the
helpful site search function allowing you to break your search down by
photos or videos and by 12 categories (things like boy-girl, blowjobs,
girl-girl, bikinis, lingerie, etc.), we couldn't figure out if there was
a section that was just Kelly. This is kind of important, because with
any personal performer site you're mainly joining just for the
headliner. It's like when you buy or rent a movie with a particular
star--you're only interested in the scenes they're in. The rest is
filler.
Well, there is a lot of filler here.
Now don't get us wrong, some of it is quality filler. For example you
get a full membership to whole sites like Lana Lotts, Gucci Girls and
Aspen Reign. It's like a mini-big-tit network. But you also get what are basically preview galleries from
other sites, including the well-traveled Big
Naturals.
The emphasis throughout, including all of the extra material, is on
busty girls. Kelly (herself an impressively stacked natural 34FF) does a lot of solo stripping and masturbation out of various basic
costumes. She also does girl-girl sets and hardcore boy-girl. Nothing
really nasty or fetish, but she covers the bases. Think Wifey's
World or Rachel
Aziani and you'll get the general picture. This site is very
similar. The filming is average, without
a lot of the trendy fast editing (thank you), but not nearly
enough in-for-the-kill close-up action (same goes for the pictures, by
the way). Sometimes you get natural sound and
other times there's a dippy musical soundtrack. The videos are all
available for download, usually in a choice of formats (high and low-res
wmv, QuickTime and
RealPlayer). File size is typically around 10 megs
for individual clips (3 or 4 clips are then joined together for a full
scene). The playback is also just what we would call average, but
getting better. The high-res newer stuff is around 500 kb/s at
640x480. The older clips don't look as good, but for a site that's been
around since 2000 we're glad to see the improvement. The pics also come
in a medium and large size. Even the large isn't supersize though, and
like the video there isn't much in the way of close-ups. For the most
part the picture sets complement the movies (though they aren't just
vidcaps) and are presented as thumbnails on the same page as the video
downloads.
As with any good amateur you get a live cam show once a week and an archive of 96 previous
shows (yeah, just a slideshow through a pile of thumbnails). There's
also a forum and basic bio stuff.
Bottom
line?
This
is a
great all-around site, but more of a grab-bag than
you might expect. The trial rate is very fair.
