Redhot Video is a studio that specializes in spanking movies.
Exclusively. This is not a bondage site. It isn't even a hardcore site.
It's a spanking site. Just spanking. Spanking is all they do. Here is
part of their mission statement (yes, they have a mission statement!):
"Whence [whence?] you kick back and press the "play" button, you won't
find yourself reaching for the "fast forward" button because
we don't waste your time with lame story lines and even lamer acting."
"Our models play the role of . . . well, models. Our dancers
are likewise instructed to portray dancers, our porn stars porn stars
and so on. In effect the amount of "acting" required is
minimal which we feel to be in the best interests of everyone involved
most especially you the audience. Of course, we do tell the
"ladies" to pretend to be amoral, self-centered,
egotistical, rude and so on, but like I said the amount of acting
required is minimal. What comes next has even less to do with
play-acting.
"Worse even than lame acting is lame content. All too many spanking
producers employ a technique that can best be described as the SMACK-talk-SMACK-SMACK-talk-talk-talk-SMACK-talk-talk
routine. You'll see none of that nonsense in our films where the
action is always fast and furious.
"Hey, the bitches we present to you are all way, waaay beyond the point
where any well meaning lecture would do them an ounce of good anyway.
More importantly, neither you nor we want to hear it. So . . . after the
briefest of introductory preliminaries the only remaining dialog
you'll hear are the howls, screams and frantic gibberish you'd expect
to hear from a wench getting the bare ass smacking of a lifetime.
Sweet, sweet music indeed."
You can learn a lot from these guys. Here they are, for example, on
"air spanking" (something we knew nothing about before this):
"If you're not already aware of the old hand-cupping trick, it's time
that you were clued in. It is in fact an all too common method of (we
think) cheating that is employed by damn near every producer in the
industry. When executed correctly, it is a surprisingly effective way
of making a whole lot of noise with a minimum of effort. Most of that
noise you hear is created by the cushion of air, which becomes
trapped, between the spankers cupped palm and its supposed target. The
whole idea is of course to make a mild to moderate bottom smacking
seem like very much more.
We don't do "air spankings"."
You are then asked to view the results of a "Bun Beating
Fun" spanking in some sample videos. And truth be told, these girls
do get very red bottoms. Give Red Hot Video credit where it's due. This
is the real spank.
It is not an outstanding site. For one thing, it is really ugly. All
black and crude graphics. It was supposedly "radically
redesigned" since our previous visit two years ago, but we couldn't
tell much of a difference (and it wasn't pretty to look at then). Site navigation is very easy--but then, there aren't a lot of
places to go. In fact there's only one place to go. The main page
has one link, to the video galleries. Thumbnailing for these galleries is inadequate. The content,
the only content, consists of excerpts from RHV's line of spanking videos
(and, more recently, the full videos available for download).
There are no extras (stories, photo galleries, chats, feeds, bonus
sites, etc.), just the videos.
On our most recent visit there were 21 video galleries. Each gallery
is a Red Hot Video title, featuring 3 spanking sessions. The most recent
seven videos were available for download in large (approx. 200 meg)
files containing the whole video, or as separate clips. These are all in
RealPlayer. The earlier videos are available only as clips (around 7-10
megs) in mpeg format. These mpeg clips are of just average playback, and
below average for the RealPlayer clips (the full movies are better). As
noted, better thumbnailing would really help. It's pretty much
impossible to tell what you're getting in any clip. Then again,
what you're getting is pretty much always the same.
The movies themselves are OK. The editing, sound, and camera work are
professional, but the lighting is a little dark and the production (as
befits the Roach Motel) looks really cheap and sleazy. The models are just decent. And if it's spanking you want . . . well, why
the hell else would you be
here?
The action consists of girls being
tossed over some guy's lap, crying and kicking their heels in the air as
they receive their manual punishment. They usually repeat things like
"What are you do-o-o-ing?" Some context is provided. But, as
noted in the mission statement, they "don't waste your time with lame story lines and even lamer acting."
In addition, it
is always the same context. Most of
the sessions revolve around stuck-up wannabe models in need of an attitude
adjustment who go to a photo session at the Roach Motel.
The movies are not without an occasional sense of humour (even using
cartoon-style sound effects), but the action is numbingly repetitive.
We were disappointed with the look of the site. It doesn't seem like
there's a lot of effort being put into it. There's also no apparent
update schedule (the last content update when we visited had been two
weeks earlier, and we had no idea when the next would be). Since this is a studio site, the content is all exclusive and
original and they are generous with it. We really didn't care for the
max-sleaze presentation, but if you are hooked on spanking and just
thrill to "the sights and sounds of real spankings
administered to real tarts with the utmost in gusto and vehemence"
then you do get a heavy dose of it here.
